Blake Griffin incredible dunk

It looks like Blake was a little annoyed by the early dunk of the year nominalization of Lebron’s Jam the other day, so he decided to take the matter into his own hands.

What resulted? See for yourself as Perkins is absolutely murked:

Lebron ridiculous jam

Lebron just did an amazing alley-oop jumping OVER John Lucas in the game versus Chicago I’m currently watching live.

Check it out:

I don’t know how many know who Lester Earl was, but i think a lot of people watched the 1996 McDonald’s High School Dunk Contest because Kobe Bryant was in it. Yeah the NBA 5 times champ and former MVP, AND NBA Dunk Champ. The problem is he got destroyed in that contest by the beast Lester Earl was.  At 6″ 8′ (2.03m) and over 220 pounds (100kg<) he was the definition of the POWER dunker, as you can see for yourself here, the last dunk Earl does being THE DEFINITION of a Two Handed Tomahawk Jam:

Another dunk contest between the two ending in a TIE ! went done just a few months back, in 1995, at the Myrtle Beach, Beach Ball Classic, where the two showed everybody a preview of the 96 McDonald’s Dunk contest. Again this contest featured some incredible dunks from both of them, even one where Kobe jumped over three people, a dunk rarely known, you can check it out here:

Sadly, Lester got money from an LSU coach and got the college on probation before heading to Kansas U, and after a few seasons of playing over seas (Spain and Lebanon) he came down with knee issues, making his career a very short one.

Here’s another high flying jam from his time with the Jayhawks:

Currently he is taking care of his son and is involved in community work, and teaching basketball to young kids.

It’s too bad we didn’t get to see an NBA Dunk contest battle between Kobe and Lester, as that would’ve surely get in the top dunk contests of all time.

Here’s some previously unseen footage (actually i knew the dunks, but this is extended footage featuring a few more warm-up and contest dunks) from the original cartwheel dunk creator,

Abdoul Bamba:

As you can see these dunks were amazing for the time being (1996), and this contest featuring Kadour Ziani (he also did some ridiculous dunks in it) started the Slam Nation movement, which still exists today.

The cartwheel dunks was further improved and made famous by Justin “Jus Fly” Darlington, adding windmills and between the legs to the already crazy slam:

Even though many don’t know, and think JR Rider did the first between the legs in a dunk contest, that information is wrong.

Actually the first guy to do such a feat was Orlando Woolridge, WAY BACK in 1984!

You can even see he went behind his back and then between his legs, reverse.

The next guy to do a between the legs was JR Rider in 1994, 10 years later, as the East Bay funk Dunk:

In many areas around the world people are even calling the between the legs, a “Rider”, which is wrong by my opinion…

This being my first post I’ll introduce myself and what do i do.

I’m 22 years old at the time being and I mainly occupy my time with dunks and training for dunking.

You can see more about me at http://www.ideas4talent.ro/talente/slam-dunk, warning though it’s in Romanian.

Big ups to ideas4talent Romania for making the videos about me!

Even though this blog will be about dunking and different dunks, for this first post I’ll start with some of my own dunks and I’ll update them every time i hit some new ones.

So enough chatting, here are some of my dunks, starting with the latest dunk contest i won, Sport Arena Streetball Masters.
